DATA MATURITY WORKSHOPS

We believe in giving people the tools to facilitate conversations in their own communities. This page walks potential facilitators through how to run a Data Maturity Workshop. Our data maturity framework integrates data literacy, analysis, and strategic priority setting. We advocate for care-driven data engagement with a commitment to listening, performance culture, storytelling, and community building.

SECTION 1: CORE CONCEPTS

Data Maturity Workshops begin like all workshops: get people comfortable in the space and do introductions. Following that, move on to defining the core concepts.

  • Data Maturity

  • Data-to-Action Cycle

  • Performance Culture

  • Data and Listening

Once the core concepts have been introduced, move on to Section 2: Data Exploration Activity.

SECTION 2: DATA EXPLORATION

The second section of the workshop invites members to take up one or more specific issues, review existing knowledge, interpret data, and create a data action plan.

  • Chose Focus

  • Read Relevant Knowledge-Sharing Brief

  • Interpret Data

  • Create Data Action Plan

  • Groups Present on Data Action Plan

In a 90-minute workshop, only go through this once. In a half/full-day workshop, multiple data explorations can be gone through.
