WHAT IS SLARCH?

SLARCH is the St. Louis Area Regional Commission on Homelessness. It is a collaborative effort between nonprofits, governments, and other sectors from Madison, St. Clair, St. Louis City, St. Louis County, St. Charles, Lincoln, Warren, and Jefferson counties.

SLARCH works to reduce homelessness in the region by promoting coordinated, data-driven, well-resourced support systems and interventions to serve individuals and families experiencing homelessness or those most at risk of homelessness.

The Leadership Council develops the strategic vision for SLARCH. The council is composed of representatives from each county's government, nonprofits, and other sectors (including education, health care, housing authority, etc.)

SLARCH works to coordinate and align the services provided by the region as a whole. This includes developing a system for referring clients across county lines, sharing best practices, and developing regional trainings and co-learning events.

Without regional data, there can be no regional strategy. SLARCH works to combine data from across various systems, visualize that data in an accessible way, and host training and events to facilitate data-driven decision making.

In addition to capacity-building and process improvement, SLARCH has taken up the goal of reducing veteran homelessness to functional zero by Veteran's Day 2019.
